Scale VDI Globally

Provide a worldwide, enterprise-class desktop service quickly and cost-effectively

The promise of centralizing desktops is often offset by the challenges of scaling the solution. Desktop deployments are mission-critical for most organizations – end-users must have access to their desktops. As a result, the requirements for desktop availability are often more rigorous than for server virtualization because more people are impacted when outages occur.

The Leostream Connection Broker provides resilient and scalable VDI capacity by tightly integrating with the network infrastructure used for high availability, including enterprise-class databases, DNS, and local load balancing, allowing organizations to scale seamlessly to support tens of thousands of desktops.

Leostream Connection Brokers are designed to operate in redundant clusters, sharing a common database. Log in and processing loads are spread across the cluster dynamically, easily, and quickly, permitting hundreds of simultaneous log ins and smooth handling of peak traffic loads. In the case of Connection Broker failure, new user sessions are automatically connected using another Connection Broker in the cluster - there is no interruption of end-user log ins. Existing end-user desktop sessions are immune to Connection Broker failure, as the Connection Broker removes itself from the data path after it securely connects the user to their desktop.

Licensing is based on the total number of users served, rather than Connecton Broker instances, resulting in an extremely cost-effective way to scale destkops to any number of users, where and when they are needed. Increasing redundancy doesn't increase deployment costs.
